My Story

Behind the Words

I started writing in 2010 when I wrote the manuscript, 'Nobody Said It Would Be Easy'. I originally wrote it for my partner, B J Royce, who Ryan, my main character, in the book is slightly based. When we eventually pass over we leave no footprints so this was my way of honouring him.

It was his idea to send the manuscript to an Amazon agent because he thought that it might have a chance. He paid all the costs for this to happen.

In 2011 I wrote a manuscript and called it 'The Tinsel Tree', but before submitting it to a publisher I re-named it '17th Century Man' and Bryan paid all the production costs.

Both books are of the romantic genre.

I pay homage to my gran because she bought me a small lined writing pad and pen and she always encouraged me to read and write.

My dad didn't believe in the education of women he told me that my husband would look after me so I didn't need to worry about being educated.

I started work at the age of 15 on the secretarial track as Junior clerk and progressed from there. Years later I became an IT teacher at a college of further education.

I've paid for all my education by attending our local college of further education and over the years achieved three A levels, two O levels and three GCE's. I haven't got a degree as yet.

I am very passionate about writing and all that's involved with it and am currently writing another manuscript to follow on from 17th Century Man.

Regards,

Linda
